History

Renewed Hope Health Clinic was established in June of 2007 in order to help low income and uninsured individuals in Allegan County with medical and mental health issues. Our clinic name was inspired by two of our early patients, a mother and daughter who came into our clinic seeking mental health treatment. Shortly thereafter, our director, Marcia Beare realized the two women had not had anything to eat in two days. She offered them food that was leftover from their donated lunches from the area restaurants. A few days later, the women brought in a handmade card thanking the clinic for the full stomachs and their renewed hope.

Our current director is Marcia Marques, who became the director of our clinic in August of 2011. Carol Visser is the current President of our board of directors. Christopher Fish D.O. is our current medical director and volunteers much of his time to the clinic to help individuals suffering from medical conditions. He also volunteers his time and medical services overseas.

Over the years we have been able to help all kinds of individuals with all types of issues. We have helped people with issues as manageable as high blood pressure and cholesterol to helping people manage cancer. In 2008, a woman came into our clinic and had a 24 pound tumor removed which likely never would have been found without the availability of our services.

Through the generosity of organizations that have contributed to our clinic, we were able to help many of the residents of Allegan county ensuring they have a higher quality of life and providing them with medical services they needed. Through the help of these organizations, we hope to continue to provide physical and mental health services to the residents of Allegan county.
